Quite a bit has happened since my last entry...and thankfully I'm not AS melancholy as last time. woohoo?

I got a chance to go back to the east coast and visit most of my friends and family in Maryland for the first time in...5 years? I had a fantastic time but there was an unfortunate side-effect...I did NOT want to come home. There were a couple times I seriously contemplated not getting on the plane back to Durango. And now I've decided that once I graduate from the Fort, I'll be moving back there to get my masters...and hopefully more .

I also went to upstate New York (Victor to be precise) and was fortunate enough to see the lilac festival and take some wonderful photos - you can view some of them in my gallery, but I'm saving the rest for later so the petals aren't so overwhelming . Feel free to peruse them!

I've also realized in the past month or so how to weed out those people I can actually call friends and those who are just out to help themselves. It's not exactly fun, but I'm glad I've taken the time to figure it out...it was just stressful before.

My next tattoo design is in progress! I'm very proud of it because it's completely original and, since I designed it myself, it's exactly the way I want it! For those who are curious (though I don't know who even reads these posts anymore), it's a kind of vine of orchids that will go from my left hip, up my left side (ribcage), and wrap arount to my left shoulderblade where it will blend with my music note collage (don't know yet if the flowers will morph into music notes or if flower buds will open to reveal music notes...hmm). The roots will also be "growing out" of my skin. I took the idea to my tattoo artist today, so we'll see what kinds of modifications he comes up with. The important part is that the main design and idea is my own! Yay! I'm super excited! We'll start the outline next month .

It's raining again!! This is the second torrential downpour we've had today! Crazy...normally Durango gets this much rain in maybe a 2 month span, not in 6 hours. Oh well, at least my veggie garden will be happy .

I miss Maryland terribly...and...well...everything that comes with it.
